Michael R. Sheehy
Co-founder and the Executive Director of Jonang Foundation. He completed his Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies in 2007, and spent several years studying in a Jonang Buddhist monastery in the Golok region of eastern Tibet where he returns annually to conduct fieldwork and digital preservation projects. Trained by E. Gene Smith, Michael was the chief scholar at the Tibetan Buddhist Resource Center for eight years where he directed the research department, maintained bibliographic control of the digital library, administered a multimillion dollar text preservation program in Tibet, and implemented numerous innovative digital scholarship projects. He is currently a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University.
