Jonang Publication Series I
The Jonang Publication Series (Jo nang dpe tshogs) is an annual series dedicated to making select sutra and tantra works available from all genres of the Jonang literary tradition. Each Tibetan text in this series of important Buddhist classics was chosen from the corpus of Jonang Tibetan Buddhist literature to reflect the contemporary scholastic curriculum within Jonang monasteries inside Tibet. Texts were carefully input for publication from rare manuscripts by Jonang scholars and monks as part of this ongoing project.
These Jonang books were selected and edited under The Jonang Standing Council in association with Jonang Foundation, and are being made available for purchase here.
The first set of 10 books (vols. 1-10) published as part of this series are:
1. | Ri chos nges don rgya mtsho, by Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen The Ri chos is Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen’s masterpiece on zhentong (gzhan stong). Interweaving sutra and tantra, this work is considered one of the classics of Tibetan Buddhist philosophical literature. |

2. | Rgyud bla’i TIk ka, by Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen The Rgyud bla’i TIk ka is Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen’s annotated commentary on Maitreya’s famed Uttaratantra. This work is not contained within Dolpopa’s “Collected Works” ( gsung ‘bum) and is offered here in published form for the first time. |

3. | Phar phyin mdo lugs ma, by Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen The Phar phyin mdo lugs ma is Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen’s commentary on the Prajnaparamita-sutras. This work is one of the core texts for the study of Mahayana literature within the contemporary Jonang scholastic curriculum. |

4-5. | Phar phyin nya TI ka , by Nyawon Kunga Pal (2 vols.) The Phar phyin nya TI ka is Nyawon Kunga Pal’s condensation of the Prajnaparamita-sutras. Nyawon Kunga Pal was one of the primary disciples of Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen, and was one of the early luminaries of the Jonang tradition. |

6-7. | Mngon pa kun btus, by Sazang Mati Panchen (2 vols.) The Mngon pa kun btus is Sazang Mati Panchen’s commentary on the essential points of Mahayana Buddhist philosophy, psychology and metaphysics. Sazang Mati Panchen was one of the primary disciples of Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen. |

8. | Blang dor rab gsal, by Sazang Mati Panchen The Blang dor rab gsal is Sazang Mati Panchen’s clarifications on essential questions concerning Buddhist philosophy. Sazang Mati Panchen was one of the primary disciples of Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen. |

9. | Tshad ma rnam ‘grel, by Tshal Minpa Sonam Zangpo The Tshad ma rnam ‘grel is an important work on Buddhist epistemology. This text was composed by the Jonang scholar Tshal Minpa, and is offered here in published form for the first time. |

10. | Dbu ma theg mchog, by Taranatha The Dbu ma theg mchog is Jetsun Taranatha’s seminal work on zhentong (gzhan stong). This edition includes the root text along with its extensive commentary in the form of transcript notes ( zin bris) taken from Taranatha’s own instructions on the text. |
